Rio de Janeiro- Brazil, - Aggreko, the global leader in the provision of temporary power and temperature control, has been awarded the contract for the supply of rental power to the Athina Onassis International Horse Show (AOIHS) 2010.
AOIHS has chosen Aggreko to supply 4.8 MW of power, which is equivalent to the power needed to supply nearly 5,000 houses. The company will provide temporary power for lighting, sound, video, LED boards, restaurants and service areas, as well as backup power for the horse stalls.
The AOIHS is part of the Global Champions Tour, one of the most prestigious show jumping championships in the world and will take place from August 26th to 28th at the Brazilian Equine Society in Rio de Janeiro. The 2010 Global Champions Tour, which has been to Valencia, Hamburg, Turin, Cannes, Monaco, Estoril, Chantilly and Valkenswaard, is in Rio de Janeiro for the second time in Rio de Janeiro. It is also the second time that Aggreko has been contracted to provide temporary power for the show.
Diogenes Paoli Neto, Aggreko International Director for South America, said: “The success of any event is only possible when supported by reliable suppliers. We are pleased that AOIHS is choosing to put its trust in Aggreko to ensure a quality power supply for the event. This is particularly important when dealing with sensitive broadcast equipment, and with the eyes of the equestrian world on Rio de Janeiro this week, the organisers naturally want to be certain of their power supply.”
