Supporting The Grid 11 MW Base Load Station
The challenge to the customer
An important power station in Melilla, Spain was installing new
generators at their site. During the installation process, sizeable
losses of power were expected.
Aggreko's solution
Aggreko initially installed 5 MW of power to supply the
necessary back up power. During the installation period, power
demand in the area drastically increased. Aggreko immediately
increased the temporary power supply to 11 MW to compensate for the
change in power demand. The customer’s grid base load station was
fully manned by Aggreko for three years.
The benefits to the customer
Aggreko’s temporary power supply allowed the grid station to
meet demand without any disruption. Aggreko’s reliability, quick
response and flexibility to provide additional equipment
successfully maintained operations for the plant.
